Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Againday is an app for keeping track of the routines that come around again, like changing the sheets or servicing the car, and sharing them with your family. This policy explains what data the Againday app and the againday.com website handle, why, and the choices you have.

The short version: we store only what is needed to save and sync your lists. There are no ads, no tracking, and we never sell your data.

Summary

  • You can start without an account. The app creates an anonymous account ID so your data can be backed up and synced.
  • If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we keep the name and email address that the provider shares, so the people in your shared lists can see your name.
  • The items, lists and completion records you create are stored on your device and in Google Cloud Firestore in the United States.
  • People you invite to a shared list can see that list, its items, its history and the names of its members.
  • No advertising, no third-party analytics, no cross-app tracking, and no selling or renting of personal data.
  • You can export your data at any time and delete your account from the app.

Data we collect and why

Account ID

When you open the app for the first time, it signs you in anonymously with Firebase Authentication (a Google service). This creates a random user ID. We don’t ask for your name, email or phone number to get started. The ID links your data to you so it can be backed up and kept in sync.

Sign in with Apple or Google (optional)

You need to sign in only if you want to use Againday on more than one device or share lists with others. When you sign in, Firebase Authentication receives and stores:

  • your display name from Apple or Google, which you can change in the app, and
  • the email address the provider shares. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email, in which case Apple gives us a private relay address.

Your display name is shown to members of the lists you share or join, for example next to the items you mark done. We use your email address only to identify your account and to respond if you contact us — never for marketing.

Your content

The app stores what you create:

  • items: name, icon, color, tags, how often it repeats, reminder time, display unit, notes and sort order;
  • lists: name, color, icon, members and their roles;
  • completion records: the date and time, an optional note, and who completed it.

This content is saved on your device and in Google Cloud Firestore, in the United States multi-region location (nam5), so it can be backed up and synced between your devices and the members of your shared lists.

Shared lists and invitations

When you share a list, everyone in it can see the list’s name, items, notes, completion history and the display names and roles of all members. Members with edit access can change items and add or remove completion records.

An invitation contains the list’s name, your display name and the access level. Anyone who is signed in to Againday and has the invite link or code can see these details and join until the invitation expires (after 7 days) or you cancel it. Please share invite links only with people you trust. Your Personal list is never shared.

Purchases

Againday Pro is sold through the App Store and Google Play. Apple and Google process the payment; we never receive your payment card details. The app checks with the store whether your account owns Againday Pro.

Technical data

When the app connects to Firebase, Google’s servers process technical information such as your IP address, device and operating-system type and app version, which is needed to deliver the service and protect it from abuse. We don’t use this information to build a profile of you.

Support messages

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and we use them only to reply to you.

Data that stays on your device

Notifications are scheduled locally on your device. Your notification settings and default reminder time stay on your device; a reminder time you set for a specific item is saved with that item so your other devices use the same time. Widgets read data stored on your device.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t show ads or use advertising SDKs.
  • We don’t use third-party analytics or tracking tools, and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • We don’t sell, rent or share your personal data for advertising.
  • The app doesn’t access your location, contacts or photos.

We process personal data to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract), for our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and working, to comply with legal obligations, and with your consent where the law requires it — for example when you choose to sign in.

Service providers and where data is stored

We rely on a small number of providers to run Againday:

  • Google (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) — accounts and synced data, stored in the United States.
  • Apple and Google — Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In, and App Store / Google Play purchases.
  • Cloudflare — hosting of againday.com and forwarding of email sent to support@againday.com.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own data protection terms. If you live outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and stored in the United States; where required, these transfers are protected by safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep data

  • Your account and content are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
  • When you delete an item, list or record, a deletion marker is kept for up to 30 days so your other devices and family members’ devices also remove it.
  • When you delete your account, we delete your data from our active systems within 30 days. Copies may remain in our providers’ backups for a limited time until they are overwritten.
  • If you never sign in and remove the app, we can no longer connect that anonymous account to you. We may delete anonymous accounts that have been inactive for more than 12 months.
  • Support emails are kept as long as needed to help you and for a reasonable time afterwards.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and export: export all your data as JSON or CSV from the app’s Settings.
  • Correct: edit items, lists and your display name in the app.
  • Delete: delete individual items, lists and records, leave shared lists, or delete your account (see below).

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To make a request, email support@againday.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

Deleting your account and data

In the app, open Settings → Account → Delete Account. If you can’t use the app, email support@againday.com from the address linked to your sign-in and ask us to delete your account; we will do so within 30 days.

Deleting your account removes your account, your Personal list and the lists you own, including for the people you shared them with. You will be removed from lists that others shared with you; the completion records you added to those lists remain part of that list’s history, showing the name you used at the time. If you would like your name removed from those records, let us know.

Children

Againday is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is controlled by security rules so that only the members of a list can read or change it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and keep what we store to a minimum.

The againday.com website

The website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts, and it loads nothing from third parties. If you choose a language, that choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device. Invite pages read the invite code in your browser only and don’t send it anywhere. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against attacks.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will also let you know in the app before they take effect.
